The reason I chose to specialize in marriage and couples counseling is….:

Happy, healthy, successful marriages are not an accident. I see many people who, for a variety of reasons, accept the status quo in unfulfilled, empty marriages. How sad. I have seen enough couples in my twenty five plus years of being a therapist to know what a huge difference couples counseling can make in peoples lives. A successful marriage can be a solid base for both individuals. I want to be part of the movement that helps couples create marriages that they can honestly say they are really glad they are with each other.

What you most enjoy about working with couples is….:

I like the dynamics in the room during a couples session. I like hearing both perspectives of what it is like for each person to be in this marriage. I can see the potential and the stuck places in the marriage. I get excited knowing there are ways to help this couple grow and create what they want. I am thrilled to be able to help them on their journey.

Are there kinds of couples or issues that you work with a lot?:

I see a wide variety of couples issues in my practice. I live and work in a community that is very open in how relationships are formed and managed. There are the usual affairs, family, money and sexual issues. I have pursued additional training to work comfortably with sexual issues for both individuals and the couple. I am also seeing more polyamory and alternative family structure situations. I want couples who are willing to do the work required to make the changes in their relationship that will improve their lives.

What are the steps to becoming a client in my practice?:

Call my office number 702 228-0980. Leave me a message and I will return your phone call. We will discuss what it is you are looking for and I will explain a little about how I work. We can schedule a brief meet and greet session to go over a few items and find out if we are a good fit to work together. If we decide to move forward with couples therapy I will provide you some paper work that needs to be completed and returned on your first session. Couples sessions are usually scheduled for 90 minutes. If we decide to do Discernment Counseling the initial session will be two hours.
