Three statistics moved me to specialize in couples' counseling:
Two thirds of divorcing couples do not get even one hour of marriage counseling. Two thirds of new parents experience a drop in marital satisfaction after the baby is born. Two thirds of divorces involve low-conflict marriage. Also, I chose to specialize in couples counseling because most of the therapists that I’ve met during my 35 years in this field want nothing to do with couple’s therapy.
the chance to save an entire family including the children who are not present at couple’s therapy sessions. Also, follow-up emails from clients inspire and motivate me. “Dr. Singer, you made a real difference in our lives and we can’t thank you enough for saving our marriage and impacting future generations. Now go fix the world.” (I'm trying to do that, one couple at a time).
I have an 80% success rate in saving couples on the brink of divorce. I have expertise with: observant Jewish couples, marital rescue after infidelity, recharging empty-nester marriages, pre-marital education, and I am a co-parenting specialist.
We begin with a 30 minute (no charge) phone interview. The client then reviews my letter of agreement. We set a date/time for the first session and decide: in-person, phone call, or a video session. I am the last person in the room to give up on your marriage.
