Best Way of Reaching Me: Phone or Email is Fine
The reason I chose to specialize in marriage and couples counseling is….:

I have always been fascinated by how people interacted. Since I was very young I have started observing the interaction of my parents, my friends’ parents, my aunts and uncles, and neighbors… I hear them fighting, I hear them complaining, I hear them making projects together, and I hear what they thought about love and about marriage. Some of them were happy, some of them seemed indifferent, and others were just miserable. I was curious about what the happy couples knew that the miserable ones did not. Also, I could see the impact of those interactions on those living around them. Yet, I could not have an answer that made sense to me. Years have passed until I had my first Psychology class in college. The professor made a family sculpture illustrating the various roles in the family system. That class hit me like a bolt! At that moment, I have gotten a glimpse of what could be the answers for my questions. Decades later here I am, still fascinated by what I learn every day with my clients and from the best minds in the field of Couple’s therapy.

What you most enjoy about working with couples is….:

I enjoy the possibility of connecting with both partners in a deep level, and to be the witness of their unique history together. It is fascinating to walk alongside a couple for a while, and seeing them unveil their contributions for the relationship.

Are there kinds of couples or issues that you work with a lot?:

The couples that come to me usually have been married for a while. They feel a painful chasm between them and do not know how to go about the array of feelings triggered by the question” Where did our love go?” I also have seen people who experience ambivalence about stay or not in the marriage. Either because the marriage feels empty, or because they are dealing with an affair, abuse or addiction.
I am also fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

What are the steps to becoming a client in my practice?:

1) Call me to schedule an appointment.
2) I will call you back within 24h
3) We will schedule a day and time that is convenient for you
4) You and your partner will show up for the appointment, and will sign the informed consent.
