The reason I chose to specialize in marriage and couples counseling is….:

I really enjoy working with couples and helping them to find better ways to address their issues in order for them to feel closer and more connected.

What you most enjoy about working with couples is….:

I am certified as an Emotionally Focused Therapist, so I focus on helping couples be able to emotionally reconnect. One of the things that I really enjoy about this approach is when couples begin to be vulnerable with each other and partners begin to see what is in the other person's heart and see how much love and caring the partner has for them and how important they are to that partner.

Are there kinds of couples or issues that you work with a lot?:

Most of the couples that I see identify problems with communication, which could involve escalated arguments or lack of communication as a result of distancing from each other in an effort to avoid conflict. I also see a number of couples where one or both partners are dealing with issues of infidelity through either emotional or physical affairs. Most of the couples that I see have both partners wanting to work on their relationship, although they might not know how to go about doing that.

What are the steps to becoming a client in my practice?:

I start with a phone call to find out a little bit about what is bringing you to call for counseling at this time, as well as to get some contact information, insurance information, and to make sure that your availability fits with my availability. I then schedule an appointment and email my forms out prior to the session so that we can maximize our time together in the first session.
