The reason I chose to specialize in marriage and couples counseling is….:

My interest and passion in specializing in marriage and couples counseling dates back many years. As humans, we long to connect with others, both emotionally and physically. Having and experiencing a healthy and fulfilling relationship with a partner is an extremely important part of our lives. Because without a healthy marital/couples relationship, one cannot have a healthy family.

What you most enjoy about working with couples is….:

When working with couples, what is so important to me as their therapist is that they trust me to walk beside them throughout their journey to healing. What I enjoy most is connecting and collaborating with couples to help them explore, to achieve their greatest potential as a couple, and to experience the "ah-hah" moments. Those special moments when growth and change occur.

Are there kinds of couples or issues that you work with a lot?:

Over the years, I have had the opportunity of working with couples from diverse backgrounds struggling to navigate various types of presenting problems, including infidelity, communication, conflict management, parent-child, co-parenting, family-of-origin, life stage transitions, impending separation and divorce.

What are the steps to becoming a client in my practice?:

Although making the initial contact with a therapist can be one of the most challenging, the first step that I encourage potential clients to make is to contact me either via phone or email. Since fit between a therapist and client is important, during a complimentary phone consultation, I explore the client's presenting concerns and answer any questions he/she may have. Once fit is determined, an intake appointment is scheduled.
