The reason I chose to specialize in marriage and couples counseling is….:

Intimate partnerships uniquely, elegantly present imperatives for adult development. Besides the internal aspects of each person, there is the interpersonal system to work with as well. People take a leap of faith to know and be known, to love and be loved in an intimate enduring partnership. Because they do not mate with their clone, but someone a bit different than themselves, life together can be unpredictable! Disagreements and conflict are inevitable. Then people try to engage, improve themselves or their partner, review their understanding of relationship, keep the peace--and many other strategies, and must weigh their values and develop skills, behaviors, and attitudes to work toward their vision of The Good Life, and of Best Self. I'm fascinated with how people choose a partner, and how their relationship does its work to help them develop, heal, and become more conscious, capable human beings.

What you most enjoy about working with couples is….:

The "working sojourn" with people who are engaged in their own becoming is a fascinating privilege. I learn and grow with my clients--besides a livelihood, that is also "what's in it for me."

Are there kinds of couples or issues that you work with a lot?:

I value working with people from any background. Common issues couples bring are problems with communication, trust, infidelity, infertility. Also, about discrepant or changing desire about sex, family planning, parenting, or finances. Devitalized passion, consideration of separation or divorce, health and mental health issues, dealing with friends or relatives, relocation, and other issues for the couple are other issues that people present for help. I have a special interest in working with leaders and partners--such as families in business, of wealth, public servants, and leaders whose role and sometimes family members are highly visible to the leader's constituents.

What are the steps to becoming a client in my practice?:
