The reason I chose to specialize in marriage and couples counseling is….:

I think marriages are the heart of our day to day lives, and when they are satisfying, they make everything else better. Likewise, unsatisfying relationships can taint almost every aspect of our lives. I have learned both personally and professionally the significant difference that can be made by good couples therapy. I feel honored to be in a profession that has the potential to make a difference in day to day lives.

What you most enjoy about working with couples is….:

What I enjoy most about working with couples is that there is so much potential for change and true growth. I also enjoy interacting with both people in the room at once. I find that this helps me gain a better understanding of each person's individual experience and hopes for the marriage, while I simultaneously gain a unique insight into the overall dynamic in the relationship. I also focus on helping each person feel understood, and I get great reward when my coaching helps a couple's negative emotions be redirected to helping the relationship rather than hurting the relationship.

Are there kinds of couples or issues that you work with a lot?:

Couples who aren't afraid of hard work to get the relationship they want; couples on the brink of divorce; couples who are committed to staying together but are more miserable than happy but see the potential for change; couples who are engaged and want to establish a strong foundation for marriage; couples who have remarried and really want to figure out how to have a solid marriage.

What are the steps to becoming a client in my practice?:

Check out my profile/bio and see if you think we'd be a good fit. If you do, give me a call and we can set up an appointment and go from there.
