The reason I chose to specialize in marriage and couples counseling is….:

There are very few absolutes in life. Even in good, solid marriages in which we thought we were pretty set in our commitment or circumstances, unforeseen events transpire that shake us off of our very “axis” or send us off onto an entirely different life trajectory than we originally planned. When that happens, relationships can very quickly get very complicated. We like to help people sort through these complicated relationships, make decisions, create boundaries, strengthen relationships, and live their best lives moving forward.

What you most enjoy about working with couples is….:

To be invited into people's most vulnerable, personal, sometimes painful parts of themselves, and to be trusted to help them make the most difficult decisions, is the greatest honor and one we take very seriously.

Are there kinds of couples or issues that you work with a lot?:

We help people sort through their most complicated relationships, especially when those relationships involve more than two adults in one way or another. These types of relationships may be intentional and voluntary, they may be unexpected and traumatic, or anywhere in between. Examples include (but are not limited to):

Affairs and infidelity
Co-parenting with exes
Dating
Divorce
Open relationships and polyamory
Remarriage
Step-parenting

What are the steps to becoming a client in my practice?:

1) Visit our website at www.relativitychicago.com and review our philosophy and pricing structure;
2) For Discernment Counseling in particular, partner #1 should email us at at info@relativitychicago.com to schedule an initial complimentary 30-minute telephone consultation;
3) If it seems like a good fit, partner #2 would then schedule their own 30-minute complimentary telephone consultation;
4) If that also goes well, an initial two-hour session will be scheduled for both partners to come into the office. Please note that a credit card is required to reserve your appointment.
**For Individual Therapy and Relationship Therapy, just give us a call at 312-884-1123 or email us at info@relativitychicago.com and we will take it from there**
