Best Way of Reaching Me: Phone or Email is Fine
The reason I chose to specialize in marriage and couples counseling is….:

I am fascinated by relationships; the way we meet each other and how we form closeness and create distance, and what goes on in couples minds. It’s a never unfolding drama that teaches me so much about humility, love, joy, and sorrow. My couples continue to teach me about human connections and how we can’t live without it.
Since I work with many immigrant families, especially young Asian Americans, they would state their relationship with their parents, as “a typical immigrant family; we weren’t close, they worked all the time, I’ve never seen my parents being affectionate.” These young adults find themselves struggling in their own relationships and marriages, they don’t have any framework to refer to. I like to help couples learn how to connect, how to build close bonds with someone they love, and have a chance to build a more emotionally fulfilling relationship.

What you most enjoy about working with couples is….:

It’s so rewarding to watch couples getting closer and feel more connected through couples therapy. They gain understanding and experience being seen and heard by their partners. Witnessing their renewed bonding and regaining their confidence in sharing emotions is deeply moving.

Are there kinds of couples or issues that you work with a lot?:

I have an extensive background working with diverse populations, especially Asian American couples and mixed race couples. Understanding the cultural background of immigrant families has helped me to offer more sensitivity to the couples struggle.

What are the steps to becoming a client in my practice?:

You can call me or email me to make the initial appointment. I also offer 20 minute free phone consultations before you make a decision to start the therapy process.
